The VS Series focuses on the lives of vampires in a city where, all things considered, vampires aren’t necessarily the worst thing out there. They exist quite contentedly surrounded by all the unrelated crime and violence that covers up their own misdemeanours.

Amidst constant attacks from the city’s self-appointed vampire executioners known only (and aptly) as the ‘Slayers’, the vampires struggle to keep their identities and business secret, and some even battle their primal urge to feast on the blood of the living. Most don’t bother.

For Catrina Malinka, the latest addition to the vampire community, things are already quite complicated. Not only does she learn that her sole purpose in this new life is to be sacrificed to an old god, but she may also have inadvertently stolen his power.
